The Light A Candle For Literacy Parade is Back!

The Literacy Parade & Children’s Book Festival will be held on Saturday, September 10 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

The parade is a reboot of the annual celebration encouraging literacy
for children years ago led by Mrs. Geneva Hayden, Edward Kochian, and Karen Norton.

​

The purpose of this event is to increase awareness of the importance of literacy, counteract the summer reading loss in children, and help parents understand the importance of reading to their children daily.

​
